Families of hostages made a statement at the opening of the "National Solidarity Day" for the release of their loved ones in captivity. Itzik Horn, father of Yair who was released from captivity and Eitan who is held hostage in Gaza, said that "we are facing a danger we never believed would happen - a danger from within." He added: "The Israeli government knowingly decided on a military operation that according to all security officials' assessments will lead to the death of my son Eitan." Hagit Chen, mother of captured soldier Itai Chen, said that "there is a real possibility for an agreement that could bring back our 50 loved ones. Facing this possibility, the Prime Minister chooses to pursue military actions and prioritizes defeating Hamas, which could close this window forever. We must not allow this."
