Shas party chairman Arye Deri declared absolute loyalty to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In an interview with Kikar HaShabbat, he said: "We support Netanyahu, period! Eisenkot is leading a camp of hatred against everything in Judaism. We are with Netanyahu all the way. We support Netanyahu at the head of the camp, that he should be prime minister. The faith-based bloc is our bloc." The remarks came after Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, who in the past expressed his disappointment with the right-wing bloc, said in one of his weekly lessons that "Netanyahu has no chance of repenting, but Eisenkot does."
