Commander of the Judea and Samaria District, Chief Superintendent Moshe Pinchi, issued a statement to the media at the attack scene, updating that according to preliminary information, civilians and apparently a soldier who were in the area neutralized the terrorists. Additionally, he said, "Whoever came here knew exactly that on Thursday there are many civilians here. I believe that the quick response of those who neutralized the terrorists prevented a larger attack."
