Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled his participation in the Israel Prize ceremony scheduled for Thursday at Binyanei Ha'Uma (Jerusalem International Convention Center). According to sources familiar with the matter, the cancellation is due to concerns over protests. The Prime Minister has also decided not to attend the Independence Day torch-lighting ceremony and will instead send a video message. He considered attending the Memorial Day ceremony at the Western Wall but ultimately declined, and will participate in the Memorial Day ceremonies on Wednesday at Mount Herzl for fallen soldiers and victims of hostile acts. As of now, Netanyahu is expected to attend the annual Bible Quiz, as he does every year, though this too remains uncertain.
