Jerusalem Rabbi Moshe Yazdi Sentenced to 18 Years for Sexual Offenses Against Students

|
The Jerusalem District Court sentenced Rabbi Moshe Yazdi (63) to 18 years in prison and one year suspended sentence after he was convicted in March of two counts of sexual offenses and two counts of financial offenses against his students. He will also compensate each victim 150,000 shekels. Yazdi founded and led the 'Amudei Hashalom' association in Jerusalem's Bukharian Quarter, where he served as rabbi and community leader. The indictment filed against him in 2022 attributed a large number of sexual offenses against female community members who came to hear his lessons.
