Around 100,000 counterfeit eggs originating from the Palestinian Authority were seized in a truck and at a business near Jerusalem. During enforcement activity by the Supervision Department of the Poultry Sector Council, a truck aroused the inspectors' suspicion and they followed it until it entered a chicken meat business in the Atarot industrial zone. Upon inspection of the truck, 12 pallets containing 2,880 trays of table eggs bearing counterfeit stamps were found, and at the business itself an additional 439 trays with counterfeit stamps were discovered. Business licensing authorities were brought in to examine the possibility of revoking the business's license and the eggs were destroyed.
