The Police Internal Investigations Department (PIID) filed an indictment at the Nof Hagalil Magistrate's Court against a police officer from the Kafr Kana station for involvement in illegal shooting and obstruction of justice. According to the indictment, during a meeting with the defendant's cousins in an olive grove near Dir Hana Junction, one of those present fired 21 shots from the defendant's police weapon. The indictment states that he instructed his cousins to give false testimony to the police, claiming they were not involved in the shooting, telling them: "Say we just arrived at the scene and you weren't there, and that we didn't shoot and heard the shots from behind us in the area. Trust me."
