A fire investigator from the Fire and Rescue Services determined that the blaze earlier near the Geva'ot settlement in Gush Etzion broke out due to welding work around the settlement's fence. It was further revealed that the fire spread rapidly up the hill aided by strong winds and was stopped just meters from the first row of houses. The Fire and Rescue Services wished to remind the public that a fire ban order is in effect until September 15.
