Yuval Or, father of the late Dror Or, eulogized his son at the funeral in Kibbutz Be'eri: "We used to say: 'When Dror is in the field – tension decreases.' Indeed, our Dror is here now. Not as we had hoped, but for us the tension has eased a tiny bit. We are hurting, very very sad and terribly terribly missing Dror, Yonat and all of us from before the terrible disaster." He added that "the struggle is not over. There is refusal to investigate the October 7 disaster and what led to it. The road is still long until we sit safely in a democratic, solidary and peace-seeking Israel."
