Former Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Andrejs Prohorenkovs has passed away at age 48 following a battle with cancer. Prohorenkovs, one of the greatest players in Latvian football history, was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year. He played for Maccabi Tel Aviv between 2002-2005 and contributed to winning the championship in 2003 and the State Cup in 2005.
