Police open investigation into agricultural extortion in the north: 'Don't pay them'

|
Police have opened an investigation following a complaint by Avshai Herzog, a farmer from Moshav Almagor in the northern Kinneret area, regarding extortion demands and threats he received. According to suspicions, Herzog was threatened that his packing house would be set on fire if he didn't pay two million shekels for "protection." He says he "works hard and isn't willing to pay a single shekel." Herzog appealed to other farmers: "Don't pay them protection money! The previous person who paid caused them to come to me, and if I pay, I'll cause them to target others."
