Palestinian flags were waved by audience members on the turquoise carpet that opened the Eurovision celebrations in Basel, Switzerland. This year, unlike last year, Palestinian Authority flags will be permitted inside the venue during the song contest, following the European Broadcasting Union's announcement that any flag legal in Switzerland will be allowed.
