Soldier photographed with noose symbol, IDF: 'We view this seriously, he will be dealt with'

|
The IDF is investigating the identity of a soldier who was photographed with a noose symbol on his uniform, similar to the pin worn by members of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's party during a discussion on the death penalty bill for terrorists. The soldier's photo, which circulated on social media, sparked outrage. The IDF Spokesperson stated: "According to appearance and dress regulations, it is forbidden to wear any non-military symbol on IDF uniforms, and therefore non-IDF badges are prohibited and enforced like other aspects of appearance and dress. The IDF views seriously any use of symbols that harm the military's state character. The incident is being investigated and the soldier's identity is being checked, and once found, he will face disciplinary action."
