The Director-General of the Health Ministry has appointed an additional and supplementary inquiry committee to examine safety incidents at the IVF (in vitro fertilization) units at Assuta Rishon LeZion and Assuta Ramat HaHayal. The decision was made following serious safety incidents in recent years at the units and in continuation of the findings of inquiry committees on the matter. The inquiry committee, which will be headed by Dr. Hagar Mizrahi, Head of the Medical Division at the Health Ministry, will examine the conduct of the units, management mechanisms, control and supervision in the field. The decision was made following new information indicating indications of additional safety incidents. The conclusions will be submitted on September 15, 2026.
