The Be'er Sheva District Court sentenced Shahadeh Abu Alqian, a resident of the Bedouin dispersion in the Negev, to 24 and a half years in actual imprisonment. He was convicted as part of a plea agreement for aiding the enemy during war and terror and weapons offenses, after he acted on behalf of a terror organization from the Gaza Strip and even enlisted in the IDF on the instructions of his handlers with the aim of collecting intelligence. In addition, he stole a weapon from an IDF soldier and subsequently transferred combat equipment to Judea and Samaria for the terror organization. On the instructions of his handler from the terror organization 'Abu Suleiman,' Abu Alqian enlisted in the IDF in May 2022, with the aim of collecting information about Bedouin soldiers, bases and military locations and transferring it to the terror organization. About eight days after his enlistment, he was arrested by security forces and his activity was thwarted.
