Acting Director-General of the Central Elections Committee Attorney Dean Livneh updated that voter turnout as of 4 p.m. stands at 55.7%. In the previous elections, voter turnout stood at 47.5% at this time. Livneh noted that this is 'the highest ever' since the committee began recording data in 1973. By this time, 4,085,075 voters had cast their ballots. This represents a 17.2% surge in the number of voters compared to the previous elections. 'The last time we saw similar voting numbers, we reached almost 80% nationwide,' Livneh added.
