The Air Force and the three regional commands have summarized and practiced implementing lessons for a massive terrorist infiltration event similar to October 7. Pilots will be able to attack armed militants on their own authority, suspected infiltration routes into our territory will be bombed within minutes, about a thousand landing zones have been established near borders, standby companies will be airlifted by Hercules aircraft and intervention teams from elite units will be automatically deployed. The new order for air operations is now defined as 'Thunder,' replacing the 'Philistine Horseman' order announced on October 7. Any regional division commander can issue this order if they determine that the majority of the invading force in their sector is larger than their defensive forces. As part of the changes, the Air Force has also doubled its minimum readiness for surprise invasion scenarios, including attack and transport helicopters for troop movement, UAVs and fighter jets.
