Hundreds of Ethiopian community members protest police violence in Ashdod

|
Hundreds of Ethiopian community members are protesting in front of the police station in District 13 in Ashdod, demonstrating against police violence and selective enforcement. They briefly blocked Altalena Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in the city, causing heavy traffic jams. Among the protesters is Member of Knesset Pnina Tamano-Shata. The protest was organized following an incident where a young Ethiopian man, a resident of the city, was documented being violently arrested. Police claimed he was arrested this way after hitting an officer and chasing passersby with an axe in a city park last Wednesday.
