Hostage survivor Eli Sharabi said at the conclusion of the national memorial ceremony of the 'Kumu' movement and October 7 families that it is necessary to "remember what happened. Investigate how it happened. Not cut corners. Not let time blur the truth, not rewrite history and not let history repeat itself. Memory is not just a look back. It is also our way forward. Only if we truly remember can we learn. Only if we learn can we fix. And only if we fix can we build a safer, more worthy, better place here. This is our hope – that after everything and despite everything, there will still be a better life here."
