A comprehensive investigation published by CNN revealed that Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law and Middle East envoy, held through his private investment firm the largest stake in Phoenix Holdings, which also invests in businesses connected to Israel's military operations. According to the investigation, Kushner avoided deeper scrutiny of this potential conflict of interest thanks to his activity as a volunteer envoy, rather than as an official government position holder which would have required him to disclose his financial assets. Thus, the investigation claims, Kushner created an 'unprecedented dual role' in the Trump administration.
