The Ministry of Health announced that a rabid jackal was found in Kfar Blum in the Upper Galilee, on the eastern side of the kibbutz, near the dam gate. No human exposure to the jackal has been reported, but the epidemiological investigation is ongoing. Anyone who came into contact, or whose animal came into contact in the area of the incident with the infected jackal or a stray animal, between October 8 and October 22 inclusive, is urgently requested to contact the Safed Health Bureau or the health bureau nearest to their place of residence, to assess the need for preventive rabies treatment.
