Syrian President Ahmad al-Shra (Abu Muhammad al-Julani) visited the Daraa region in southern Syria today for the first time since taking office. The Emirati website 'Aram News' reported that Syria's General Security apparatus has begun preparations to deploy its personnel in several areas in the south, close to the buffer zone with Israel, for the first time since the fall of the Assad regime. According to sources quoted in the report, the deployment of local forces will be carried out following Israeli approval and under pressure from the U.S.
