President Isaac Herzog met in Budapest with his Hungarian counterpart András Baka and with Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Medgyessy for the first time since the latter replaced Viktor Orbán in the position. Baka told Herzog that Israel must "respect international humanitarian laws and allow aid to enter Gaza without interference." He added that he hopes there will be "security and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians." The president arrived in Hungary to participate in an event organized by the Jewish organization Voice of the People.
