Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, envoys of U.S. President Donald Trump, shared in CBS's "60 Minutes" program about their meeting with Hamas senior Khalil al-Hayya, whose son was killed in an Israeli strike in Doha. Witkoff said: "We expressed our condolences for losing his son, I told him that I also lost a son and we are both members of the same terrible club - parents who buried their children." Kushner claimed their conversation had an impact on negotiation talks: "When Steve and he (al-Hayya) talked about their sons, it turned from negotiating with a terror organization to seeing two human beings showing a kind of vulnerability with each other."
