Journalist, publicist and television personality Dan Margalit has died at the age of 87 after a long battle with illness. His daughter Shira announced his death in a post on X, writing that he died at home surrounded by his family and adding that he was "a family man, a humanist, a journalist and a man of letters, a Zionist who loved Israel with all his heart." In his youth, Margalit wrote for the newspaper "Herut" and in the early 1960s began working at "Haaretz." He was one of Israel's most prominent journalists and worked for many media outlets including "Maariv" newspaper, Israeli television and "Israel Hayom."
