Alon Ohel underwent surgeries at Beilinson: 'Should have been performed two years ago'

|
Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva announced that hostage survivor Alon Ohel underwent eye surgery and orthopedic surgery, in which a fragment was successfully removed from his shoulder. The complex eye surgery was intended to reconstruct the eye structure and improve vision after a prolonged period where his condition deteriorated under harsh conditions without medical care. Prof. Irit Bachar, head of the ophthalmology department at Beilinson, stated that "this was a complex and extraordinary eye surgery that should have been performed two years ago. We removed several fragments and performed a lens implantation. The surgery was successful, and in the coming days we will know the extent of vision improvement."
