Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced nine measures "to stop the genocide in Gaza" and declared a complete arms embargo on Israel and a ban on ships "that assist the Israeli military" from docking in Spanish ports. The Spanish government approved the embargo, and Sanchez said the purpose of the measures is "to pursue perpetrators of genocide and support the Palestinian population." Foreign Minister Gideon Saar condemned it: "Hostile anti-Israeli line, rhetoric dripping with hatred." Additionally, he announced a series of personal sanctions to be imposed on Spanish government ministers.
