After a lengthy delay at Ben Gurion Airport and four and a half hours in the air, El Al flight LY017 from Tel Aviv to Miami turned back and made its way back to Ben Gurion Airport due to a technical malfunction discovered during the flight. El Al stated: "Upon their arrival in Israel, passengers will be offered an alternative flight to Miami or a refund – according to their choice. We apologize to the passengers for the inconvenience and emphasize that El Al places the safety and security of passengers and crew at the top of its priorities."
