American magazine Time published a comprehensive investigation revealing previously unpublished documents and correspondence showing Israel's direct involvement in transferring nearly two billion dollars from Qatar to the Gaza Strip over more than a decade. According to the investigation, governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu did not merely approve the transfer of funds but actively encouraged continued payments, participated in establishing distribution mechanisms and worked to preserve the funding arrangements even as senior Israeli officials publicly leveled sharp criticism at Qatar, claiming it financed Hamas. In addition to diversion of funds designated for humanitarian aid, a secret, direct funding channel from Qatar to Hamas was uncovered. In total, these funds financed approximately half of the military wing's entire budget, with Netanyahu's knowledge.
