Young man from Rahat convicted in plea deal for plotting to assassinate Ben Gvir

The State Prosecutor's Office has reached a plea deal with Bilal Nasasra, a 27-year-old resident of Rahat who led a cell that planned to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Nasasra admitted to the charges in the amended indictment and was convicted of conspiracy to aid an enemy during war, weapons operations for terrorist purposes and attempted property actions for terrorist purposes. The parties agreed on a sentence of 11.5 years in prison, and the court is expected to deliver its sentence soon. According to the indictment, Nasasra began planning his activities in early 2023 after watching a video describing the situation in Gaza.
