Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office stated that "We regret that at a time when the civil service is in a sensitive period requiring functional continuity, the government's legal counsel has chosen to once again disrupt the government's ability to appoint even an acting Civil Service Commissioner - a vital position for maintaining the rule of law and functioning of state institutions." Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara addressed earlier the proposed law seeking to change the appointment process of the Commissioner, writing that it was intended to turn the position into a "political tool."
