High Court approves compromise on Shin Bet chief appointment

The High Court of Justice approved in a classified closed-door hearing the compromise agreed upon last week by the parties regarding the appointment of the Shin Bet chief. According to the compromise, in about 60 days the conflict of interest issue will be resolved, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be able to select and recommend the next Shin Bet chief to the Committee for Senior Appointments (Grunis Committee).
