Approved for first reading: Restrictions on whipped cream gas that became a 'dangerous party drug'

|
The Knesset Health Committee approved for first reading a bill designed to restrict the import, marketing and sale of whipped cream gas - a material intended for industrial use that has become a common and dangerous 'party drug.' According to the proposal, importing or selling the gas without special permission from the Ministry of Health will be prohibited, and sales will only be allowed to dedicated businesses under conditions predetermined in the permit. In addition, the sale of gas will be restricted to those 18 and older, and the product will also be marked with a prominent warning label. In recent years, the use of the gas has expanded, especially among young people, leading in some cases to serious injuries.
