The administration of Makif Alef High School in Be'er Sheva decided today to suspend classes for two hours after a student violently attacked a teacher. The school's announcement stated: "This is an extremely serious incident and a clear crossing of a red line. We wish to convey a clear and unequivocal message to students and parents alike: The school is a protected and safe space. An assault on a teacher or any staff member is an assault on the heart of the education system and we will not tolerate it. Violence is not a way to resolve disputes, it is not legitimate under any circumstances and it will not become routine."
