Residents of Gan Yavne and neighboring communities have been without power since yesterday evening following damage to electrical infrastructure. According to the Israel Electric Corporation, power lines were torn due to weather conditions. A Gan Yavne resident said: "It's very frustrating. Every time we contact the electric company, the estimated time for power restoration keeps getting pushed back, with no clear answer and no solution in sight. There are elderly people, sick individuals and families with young children in the community who are forced to deal with this difficult situation, and we simply feel like no one is listening to our distress and no one is taking responsibility."
