The prosecution submitted an indictment to the Central District Juvenile Court after a hearing against two teenagers aged 17 and 14 for the reckless homicide of 14-year-old Uri Portal in Rishon Lezion. According to the charges, one of the teens took his father's gun and loaded magazine from the safe without his parents' knowledge. The next day, he arrived at school with the gun and magazine and met with his friends, the second defendant and Portal. They went to a sandy area near the Yes Planet center in the city to shoot; while practicing with it, the 14-year-old accidentally pulled the trigger and shot Portal from close range, killing him. The two are charged with reckless homicide, carrying a weapon and ammunition, and firing from a firearm.
