11th Torch: The Torch of Giving: "In Honor of All Volunteers Who Do Everything for Our Soldiers"

|
Blanka Gut, 92, from Netanya, who at the start of the war bought green wool and knitted hats and gloves for soldiers at the front; Itzik Akrish, a reserve Master Sergeant who commanded the Ground Forces camp for no less than 17 years and implemented the important program "Equal in Uniform"; and 85-year-old Chicky Alganian, a new immigrant from the USA who was born in Tehran, who turned her apartment into a cooking operations center for soldiers during the war, lit the Torch of Giving. Gut lit the torch in honor of "all the volunteers who knit and do and give everything to provide soldiers with the embrace they so deserve."
