The United States announced the launch of the first three pilot zones in southern Lebanon, as part of the implementation mechanism of the trilateral agreement between Israel and Lebanon. In a statement released by State Department spokesperson Tommy Figott, it was reported that operations began in the villages of Faron, Serifa and Zaoutar al-Gharbiya. The State Department described the move as a 'milestone' in implementing the understandings reached between Israel and Lebanon, noting that it is a direct result of talks held last week in Rome between representatives of the two countries. The activation of the pilot zones is intended to serve as the first phase in implementing the new security arrangement in southern Lebanon, aimed at strengthening stability in the region and establishing coordination mechanisms between the sides, with American mediation.
