Indonesia: At least 5 killed in passenger ferry fire

At least five people were killed in a fire that broke out on a passenger ferry sailing near Madura Island in Indonesia. Local authorities reported this, noting that 41 people are listed as missing. According to Indonesian media, the ferry was carrying 271 passengers and crew members, of whom 225 were rescued. It was traveling from the city of Surabaya in East Java province to the city of Makassar in South Sulawesi.
