Asked How to Get to Train Station: 13 Years in Prison for Jaljulia Resident Who Raped Teen in Petah Tikva

The Central District Court in Lod today sentenced Ahmed Odeh from Jaljulia, who admitted to and was convicted of raping a 15-year-old girl in Petah Tikva. The court sentenced him to 13 years in actual imprisonment, conditional imprisonment and payment of compensation in the amount of 100,000 shekels. Odeh was convicted according to his admission regarding an incident from March of last year, when the girl approached him on the street asking him to direct her to Savidor Merkaz train station. Instead of helping, he led her on a bus ride to the lobby of a building in Petah Tikva, where he attacked and raped her. He then led her to the bus station and when he fell asleep, she called for help. The sentence stated: "These are serious, harsh and shocking acts. They evoke revulsion and deserve severe punishment."
