Liran Tamari|
Police have decided to promote Hadera station commander Chief Superintendent Amit Polak, who was charged with assaulting a citizen during a protest and obstruction of justice, to the position of Policing Branch Chief in the Coastal District. According to the indictment against Polak, he attacked a protester during a demonstration in Caesarea, pushed him and then choked him by the neck before immediately ordering officers with him to arrest the protester. He subsequently attacked another person present at the scene. Polak has been involved in additional controversies, including forgetting a weapon in a courthouse, building an illegal swimming pool at his home and a phone that 'disappeared' before his investigation.
