Senior Israeli Political Source: 'The Goal Is to End the Conflict and Reach a Peace Agreement'

|
A senior Israeli political source said that 'after lengthy negotiations conducted between the United States, Israel and Lebanon, representatives of the three countries signed this evening a trilateral framework designed to lead to future agreements between Israel and Lebanon in order to end the conflict between the countries and reach a peace agreement.' The senior source added that 'Israel will maintain its security zone within the boundaries of the Yellow Line in Lebanon until the day Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations in Lebanon are disarmed. The IDF's freedom of military action will be preserved throughout the entire security zone to remove threats of any kind. Israel and Lebanon have agreed on two areas adjacent to the Yellow Line that were recommended by the IDF where there will be a pilot program for the dismantling of Hezbollah and the transfer of territory to the control of the Lebanese army: one area outside the Yellow Line and south of the Litani, and the other outside the original Yellow Line and north of the Litani.'
