President Isaac Herzog opened the Kibbutz Movement conference for strengthening the north at Tel Hai College, saying that "two years of complex and challenging war, in which from the first day kibbutzim have stood firm in the north, south and on every front. Even at the height of trauma, we saw your greatness, your contribution to establishing the state, securing borders and settlement is the cornerstone of Zionism." Lior Simcha, Secretary General of the Kibbutz Movement, said at the ceremony that "since October 7, tens of thousands of volunteers have come to the kibbutzim, and they are rising again. Young people from Israeli society are coming to work in agriculture, and generally it seems that Israel is moving to kibbutz."
