Reservists protest state funding for flights to Uman: 'Shocked, they are draft dodgers'

|
The reservist organization "Magen HaDor" published a petition opposing government funding for flights to Uman, against the backdrop of Shas chairman Aryeh Deri's efforts to prevent the arrest of deserters at Ben Gurion Airport. The petition, which has so far been signed by about 700 reservists and their family members, states: "We are shocked by the desire to allow and fund draft dodgers and deserters flying to Uman. We have no problem with flights to Uman - we have a problem with deserters who received draft orders, have travel bans against them, and the government plans to allow them to fly and fund them."
