White House: Wittkoff heading to Europe, we want ceasefire implemented as soon as possible

Reuters|
White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt addressed the arrival to the region of the U.S. special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Wittkoff. She told reporters during a briefing that Wittkoff "is making his way to Europe, where he will meet with leaders from the Middle East and discuss with them the proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages." She noted that "these are very sensitive negotiations taking place now. I spoke about this with the envoy and will let him elaborate on the subject. The administration's goal is clear, and the president and the envoy have clarified it: for the ceasefire to be implemented as soon as possible, we want the hostages to be released."
