National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited Beit Shemesh and claimed he was attacked by Neturei Karta activists. According to him, during his drive he noticed PLO flag drawings on walls, and when he stopped, dozens of Neturei Karta members shouted at him: 'Zionist,' 'murderer,' 'you support army recruitment' and 'get out of here.' Subsequently, in an unusual move, the acting Beit Shemesh police commander ordered a stun grenade to be thrown to disperse the crowd around the minister. According to the minister's statement, his wife Ayala was attacked by a female Neturei Karta activist who slapped her, and Ayala defended herself by slapping back. According to police, one suspect was arrested.
