IDF forces eliminated Barhum Shahin, head of Gaza's western district in Hamas's General Security Apparatus, and Hashem Sarsur, head of the terror organization's Emergency Committee in eastern Gaza, in the northern Strip. According to the IDF, the two terrorists "operated against the Gaza population through oppression and violence." The General Security Apparatus is a secret Hamas mechanism responsible for exposing "collaborators," securing senior officials and assets, as well as gathering intelligence.
