European Union Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas said that "Aspides," the EU's naval mission to the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean, will be reinforced with additional ships. According to her, the EU's naval mission has experienced a "sharp increase" in requests for protection and will be reinforced with additional vessels to "enhance maritime security in the region."
