Einav Halabi|
The spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel, Sheikh Muwaffak Tarif, met in Paris with the U.S. Special Envoy to Syria and Lebanon, Tom Bark. Against the backdrop of the massacre in the Druze community in As-Suwayda, Syria, Tarif discussed with Bark the establishment of a humanitarian corridor from Hadar to Suwayda province and providing aid to victims in the province, as a confidence-building measure with the Syrian regime under President Ahmad al-Sharaa, with the crossing operating under American auspices. Additionally, evidence indicating the Syrian regime's involvement in the massacre was presented during the meeting. Tarif described the meeting as "positive and optimistic," and he expects assistance for members of the Druze community.
