IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Avi Dafrin issued a statement below the Ali Taher ridge, saying that "in recent months our forces surrounded the area and intensified pressure on the passages and on the terrorists who fortified themselves within them. All the terrorists who stayed in the infrastructure were eliminated or fled, even though Hezbollah declared it would defend the infrastructure at any cost, it failed and even abandoned its men to die inside." According to him, "alongside the achievements and completion of the mission, the fighting exacted a heavy price from us. In the battles to capture and clear the ridge, our fighters fell, the best of our sons, the salt of the earth. We completed the mission, these achievements are first and foremost theirs."
